FAQs

  • Who are you?

We are Trade Up, a company dedicated to creating seamless trade-in solutions for bike and e-bike retailers. We also operate moose.co, a platform for selling high-quality second-hand bikes and scooters. Our mission is to help retailers increase their sales by providing customers with a convenient and valuable trade-in option through our Trade Up platform.

  • How can Trade Up benefit us?

By using Trade Up, you can attract more customers to your store, increase sales, and encourage repeat business. It provides an incentive for customers to upgrade their bikes, often leading to higher-value purchases, and enhances customer satisfaction by offering them added value for their old bikes.

  • What support will I receive from Trade Up?

We have a dedicated Trade Up support team that can assist with any questions that your team may have. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and beneficial as possible to both your customers and yourself.

During the onboarding process, we are happy to walk your team through the entire platform in detail to ensure that everybody has a full understanding of the system.

  • How are the logistics of traded-in bikes handled?

In short, we take care of everything.

Pick-up of bikes, whether that be in one of your stores or from a customer‘s home, is provided free-of-charge by us.

When an in-store trade-in takes places, all you need to do is hold the bike in-store until it has been picked-up by us. Pick up is completed within 72 hours of the trade-in being completed.

  • How does the financial aspect work for my store?

You do need to engage in the payment process at all for trade-ins. We handle all financial transactions with the customer directly.

This ensures a hassle-free experience for your store, and your team can focus solely on upselling and increasing sales.

When a customer accepts cash for their trade-in, we send them a payment link in which they can claim their funds. The time taken to receive the funds solely depends on the bank they are operating with.

When a customer accepts a discount code for their trade-in for your store, we will automatically generate a discount code on your store matching the valuation amount. We reimburse the exact amount of the discount directly to you, meaning you are not out of pocket.

  • How can I integrate Trade Up into my store?

Integration is simple - the first step is getting in touch with us. We will iron out some of the high-level details about your company and get you setup in our system in no time. When this is complete, your team can login to our system, and begin offering trade-ins to your customers instantly.

  • How are customers bikes evaluated?

We have curated a seamless form that takes the details of a customer‘s bike, and provides an instant valuation back to the customer. The bike‘s valuation is calculated based on the details entered for the bike, in which these details are passed through our specialised algorithm to calculate a valuation amount.

Our tool provides two methods for evaluating a bike:

    • 1. In-store trade-ins

In-store trade-ins allows you to offer Trade Up to customers who visit your physical stores. The customer will bring in their old bike, and a mechanic on your team will run the bike through our trade-in form. Once complete, our form provides an instant valuation of the bike.

    • 2. Online trade-ins

We offer an online version of the form that customers can complete from home. The online form focuses on being customer-friendly, and provides the customer with an estimated valuation of their bike.
